COMPUTER SERVICES

The following is a list of URL's to help you learn how to obtain access to labs, set-up accounts, and view policies:

CONFERENCE ROOM RESERVATIONS

The conference rooms for the department are managed by a room reservation system on the department's intranet . Any faculty or staff member may reserve rooms and equipment. If you need to reserve a classroom, you can contact the Registrar's office at (979)845-7117. If you have room reservation questions, contact Adrienne Krenek at (979)845-6176; krenek@cse.tamu.edu.

COPIERS

The main departmental copiers work on auditron numbers. Faculty needing copier numbers should provide Adrienne with the following information: What is the account to be used for? (Allocation, Research, CSCE Course, Student Research, or Student Teaching) Please note that graduate students will not be given a copier auditron number unless a faculty member requests it. This may be done by emailing Adrienne or visiting her in person.

FACULTY BUSINESS CARDS

Sybil handles business cards. Visit the Graphics Services homepage for samples of cards. Click on "order stationery" to access the business card webpage. If you choose to order you own business cards on-line, first check with Sybil as to what account number it will need to be charged to.

FACULTY ID CARDS

Faculty members are required to obtain a TAMU ID in order to access the computer science labs and the University library, among other things. Beth will assist you with information on how to obtain a TAMU ID.

GRADUATE FACULTY

If you are a new tenure-track faculty member, please meet with Kathy at once to be processed for membership on the Graduate Faculty. This official membership allows you to teach graduate courses and chair or serve as a member on graduate committees. You will need a copy of your vitae that shows your current position in the department.

PARKING

Contact Adrienne Krenek (Room 301 HRBB, 845-6176, krenek@cse.tamu.edu), for questions that you may have regarding parking. Adrienne is available to assist you with getting a parking space via the Transportation Services website or you may go directly to Transportation Services (Koldus Building) and purchase your hangtag. The department has a reserved space to accommodate visitors, and a Parking Placard for use (by faculty and staff) when attending meetings at other parts of campus. Please see Adrienne for details on both of these items.

PICTURES

The College of Engineering requires that new faculty have a picture taken through Specialty Photography for use in newsletters, annual reports and research profiles. Tony will provide you with information to make the necessary arrangements for your picture.

PROMOTION AND TENURE

If you are a new tenure-track faculty member, please see Kathy to obtain a copy of the College Promotion and Tenure Guidelines. This is important information that you must be aware of as you enter your position. Kathy also will assist you with any questions you may have about the promotion and tenure process.

RESEARCH PROFILES

Tony will gather information from new faculty members for departmental use in research profiles and other reports found on our website, which are also distributed in print. Print copies are available in Room 301.

TEXTBOOK ORDERING

Contact Adrienne Krenek (Room 301 HRBB, 845-6176, krenek@cse.tamu.edu)
Faculty members can contact Adrienne to order textbooks for each class taught. Adrienne maintains a database of courses and required/optional textbooks for easy reference. She also has a limited stock of some books on hand.

TRAVEL

TAMU & TEES

In order to be reimbursed when traveling on TAMU or TEES business, please stop by and visit with Valerie before making your travel arrangements. She also will cover the basic rules for travel reimbursement with you.
