NANO SUMMIT 2007
NANO SUMMIT 2007, The Rising Stars of Texas, will kick off with a graduate student poster session and industry/entrepreneur display in the lobby of the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center at the Bush Library and Museum Complex. Following opening remarks (5:30 p.m.), poster judging will begin. The summit provides a forum for medical, engineering and natural science researchers and students to meet and exchange information on their areas of expertise. COMMENCEMENT
Elsa A. Murano, Texas A&M vice chancellor and dean of Agriculture and Life Sciences, will speak to graduating students of the Dwight Look College of Engineering at today's graduation ceremonies. Previously, Dr. Murano was under secretary of agriculture for food safety. She was appointed to that position in 2001 by President Bush, making her the highest-ranking food safety official in the federal government.

HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTING DAY
The Texas A&M Supercomputing Facility and the Office of Vice President for Research have planned a High Performance Computing Day that combines a celebration of Hydra with the facility's annual users' meeting. Hydra is an IBM P575 with 640 processor high performance computing cluster provided through a collaboration of the Supercomputer Facility, the Office of the Vice President for Research, the Department of Computer Science and the College of Geosciences. The Office of the Vice President for Research and the International Programs Office announce a call for proposals for the International Research Travel Assistance Grant (IRTAG) and the International Curriculum Development Grant (ICDG).
