In October 2008, we became the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Our new Logo is our signature. We use it on our web site and associated promotional merchandise. CS Logo Usage and History

The Department of Computer Science started using its logo in 2003. Reuben Marwah MS '04 was the winner of a CS Logo Contest sponsored by Dr. Bjarne Stroustrup, holder of the engineering college chair in computer science. Logos were judged on size, color, and ease of replication. Members of the computer science faculty performed the judging after logos received compliance approval from Texas A&M University.

At first the logo was shortened to accommodate space requirements on the department's web site.

Then we found we needed a print logo that could be easily reproduced for our promotional materials.
